The Montessori Grammar Box material being used above helps students continue to master sentence structure. It provides a series of sentences that the children recreate by selecting the corresponding words from the relevant noun, pronoun, verb, article, preposition, adjective, or adverb boxes. They can rearrange the order of the parts of the sentence to see how it affects the meaning, and write the sentences out and symbolize each word using the grammar symbols they have worked with for many years.
In the gallery above you can see a number of Lower Elementary kids cleaning up their playground on Earth Day. We like the attitude that every day is Earth Day, but it never hurts to have a reason to get out in the sunshine and make our own little parts of the word a little better.
The clean-up wasn’t their only Earth Day activity. Both Lower Elementary groups worked together to write songs that they performed to the Casa children, one about the importance of water and another about “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” that you can see below.
