Lower North is seeing the results of a year’s, and years’, worth of work recently. The third year Lower Elementary children are showing that they are ready to take the next step by taking more and more ownership of their work and determining their own parameters such as their own due dates.
The Lower kids are also getting an introduction to the responsibilities and possibilities of Upper Elementary as two Upper girls with horse experience are helping to lead the horses for our horseback riding activity. It is this kind of community involvement that sets a Montessori school apart, including the involvement of the parents. Thank you so much to the parent volunteers; without you this activity is not possible.
It was also great to see all the grandparents working with their grandkids in the classroom this morning, and we hope they enjoyed the lovely baked goods our kids helped prepare with Sylvia, as well as the musical entertainment at the cafe — a number of Lower North children braved their stage fright to perform for the grandparent audience.
