Take a look at all the cool things at DVMS this week

Hope you are all enjoying the adorable pictures of your adorable children. Thank you, as always, to DVMS Montessori Mom Lindsay Palmer for performing 1000 leg squats, making reluctant children laugh and smile, and taking stunning photos.

Photo orders and payment are due Monday, Oct. 23.

Re-takes will also be taken on Monday. If you would like to have the photos re-taken, or if your child was absent during photo days, please let us know by sending an email to admin@dvms.ca with the subject “RETAKE: <child’s name>.” Thank you.

If you select to have re-takes, please return the original proofs/order form. If you choose to have re-take photos, please know that the original photos will not be available to purchase.

Photo packages and pricing are indicated on the order form, and don’t forget to take their class photos out before inserting payment. Every child receives a class photo.

Prints will be ready before the winter holiday break.

Bravely leaping into a new school year.

Welcome to your first Events and Information post for the 2017.2018 school year. Every Friday, at dvms.ca, we post any upcoming events and important information you need to know for the coming week(s). There will always be a link to the most recent “Events and Info” on the home page of the school website, and you can find all “Events and Info” posts under the “Parents” tab. We also send you the contents of the post via email (likely how you are reading this right now). The email does not contain all of the features and updates of the web post, so be sure to check the website.

All of the events are also posted on the calendar at dvms.ca. You will have already received some automated notification emails from the calendar regarding upcoming events. The calendar is set to send reminders 3 days and 1 day before each event on the school calendar. If you are good to keep track of school events and would like to minimize inbox traffic, just let Jason know at admin@dvms.ca, with the email address(es) you would like removed, and we can take you off the auto-notification list.

On to what’s happening:

The Broken Leg Page

Hello DVMS Community,

As you may know, a young boy from the Lower Elementary world (6-9 years-old) broke his leg earlier this week. He is home now but is beginning summer vacation in a full leg cast and will be non-weight-bearing for six weeks. 😦

The family is asking if anyone can suggest favourite audio books, book series, family movies, or any creative (non-iPad) ideas to keep him happy and occupied in the next six weeks.

If you have any suggestions, please respond in the comments section below this post so that the family can follow along.

Thank you so much.
