Transitioning to Elementary Camp with Jodi Northey (for children moving into Elementary from Casa)
Ease your child’s transition into the elementary program by signing them up for our specially designed transition summer camp! This camp is perfect for third-year Casa children who are moving into the lower elementary community. Over the course of the camp, your child will get a glimpse of what it’s like to be part of the elementary program, helping them feel confident and excited as they prepare for the next chapter of their learning journey.
Our camp will focus on key academic skills such as math review, cursive writing, spelling, grammar, and studying words through activities like alphabetizing and exploring plurals. We’ll also introduce project work, guiding children in the use of graphic organizers to break down the process of project writing. By the end of the camp, your child will have created booklets or project boards and practiced essential presentation skills, giving them a sense of accomplishment and a head start on their elementary experience.
Beyond academics, this camp is a wonderful way to help your child feel at ease in the elementary environment before the new school year begins. With small group sizes, we’ll provide personalized attention and take the time to get to know your child, building a strong foundation for their success in the elementary program. This is an incredible opportunity for your child to build confidence, develop skills, and form connections in a supportive, nurturing environment. July 21 - 25th: Summer Spelling Camp: A Fun and Engaging Learning Experience
Join us this summer for a week-long spelling camp designed for elementary-aged children in our school community! This exciting camp focuses on building a strong foundation in spelling rules through the Orton-Gillingham approach, a proven, multisensory method that makes learning fun and engaging. Perfect for children who struggle with spelling or those who need a few helpful strategies, this camp will provide concrete tools to make spelling easier and more memorable.
Throughout the week, campers will dive into identifying syllable types and learning spelling generalizations within those syllables. These skills will give children practical ways to tackle spelling challenges with confidence. Hands-on activities, creative games, and group challenges will make learning dynamic and enjoyable. Each child will also work on creating a personalized booklet to take home at the end of the camp. This booklet will include all the tips, tricks, and strategies they’ve learned, providing a valuable resource for continued practice and review.
This camp isn’t just about learning—it’s about having fun! We’ll play spelling-themed games, explore interactive lessons, and celebrate every small victory to build confidence and a love for words. If your child could benefit from a boost in spelling skills or simply wants a fun and educational way to spend part of their summer, this camp is the perfect fit. Don’t miss this opportunity to give your child the tools they need to succeed, all while making great memories with friends!
